Playing place is a popular village just outside Truro. With excellent road links and a cycle route to the city, the village is in an ideal location and is close to the highly sought after primary school at Kea. The community hall is around the corner along with a popular and well equipped public play area with skateboard park and there is a pretty church at Kea a short distance away. The creeks of Cowlands and Coombe can be enjoyed nearby with walks to Roundwood Quay and Trelissick National Trust gardens and house. In neighbouring Feock The King Harry Ferry is the gateway to the beautiful Roseland Peninsula with its stunning beaches. Loe Beach at Feock is a great place for sailing, windsurfing and kayaking located on the edge of the Carrick Roads, arguably some of the finest sailing waters in the country. Further village facilities can be accessed on foot or bicycle at nearby Carnon Downs where there is a doctors surgery and mini supermarket. Local pubs include The Punchbowl and Ladle at Penelewey and The Devoran Inn at Devoran. The Bissoe cycle trail can be accessed at Devoran with a largely off road trail ride all the way to Portreath on the North coast.
